Krzysztof Mroz takes a part in the contests not only to compete, but also to test of his artistic ideas, where the most important factors are the sound quality, style and varnish. He thinks that every violin-maker should co-operate with musicians and use their suggestions to tune the sound of instruments. He treats his work on repairs and corrections of old instruments as a perfect source of knowledge for an artist creating a new works. Therefore, he holds a principle that in order to be a master, one should first use genius models, according to the maxim: 'Begin with Stradivari'.
